Dear Northside Family,
Welcome to The Journey Forward. Our journey is not a new one. It began hundreds of years ago when God established His church on the Day of Pentecost, and we became a part of it when we chose Jesus as our Savior.
We are not the first ones on the journey, and unless Jesus comes quickly, we won’t be the last. Have you ever thought about how exciting it is to be a part of something as eternally important as the church - to build on the work of those who have come before us, and to prepare the way for those who will come after us?
The Journey Forward is a five year adventure, during which we will equip our congregation for the ministry God wants to do through us now and well into the future. We have identified four challenging areas where we believe what we do can make a significant impact. They are the areas of stewardship, ministry, discipleship and outreach. And to keep us on task, we have set some goals in these areas to help us measure how we are doing.
I have no way of knowing what God has in mind for our future as a congregation, but if the past is any indication, we can expect it to be surprising and rewarding. There is no way to go but forward. The Journey Forward takes us where we need to be, and makes us into the people we need to be, so God can do what He wants to do. I look forward to traveling with you.
